1) What is YPS?

Ang YOUTH PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY (YPS) ay isang grupo ng mga Kabataang nasa 15-35 taong gulang, na naniniwala at nagsusumikap para sa kaunlaran at kapakanan ng sektor ng KABATAAN. Layunin nitong mapalakas at mapakilos ang lahat ng kabataan hindi lamang sa bayan ng Lopez at lalawigan ng Quezon maging sa buong bansa tungo sa pagkamit ng pagkapantay-pantay at pagkilala sa papel at kontribusyong ginagampanan ng kabataan, sapagkat ang YPS ay naniniwala na ang kabataan pa rin ang pag-asa ng bayan.

Recognized: Local Government Unit of Lopez, Quezon as Non-Government Organization (NGO) thru: RA 7160 Sec. 108 or LGU Code of 1991, SB Resolution No. 250 S-2006. Per Chapter 3, sec. 50 of the LGC of 1991 under SB Res. No. 2004-234 Rule II, Sec. 5 per (a) (d) & (f) on May 17, 2006 approved May 31, 2006

2006-Creation of Lopez Municipal Council and other Municipal and Barangay Chapters.



3) Does the youth of today have misconceptions about your organization?

No, each YPS’ians well oriented what organization is.

4) Who’s running the organization at the moment? Who comprises the organization?

The YPS Chapter/Lopez Municipal Council:
Founder, Advisers, Officers and Members


5) What are the strong beliefs, values, duties and responsibilities of your org?

Thru the VMO’s of the YPS:
MISSION

To help and develop the youth into a more progressive towards achieving development and stability through designing concrete programs that could benefit the entire community.

Empower the youth by encouraging them to get involve in youth-oriented initiatives beneficial for the enhancement and development of their talent and skills.

VISION

The YPS’ians envision that the youth as medium of economic development and nation building, peaceful and stable society.

We also envision that each YPS Members will become, in a near future, leaders/movers/shakers of society.


And also our basis of unity:

We pledge:
1. To push trough standard and quality education regardless of institutions and its location.
2. To be means of Peace, development, and stability of the society.
3. To help the government to alleviate the far-flung poverty if not absolutely solves.
4. To fight against drugs.
5. To protect the environment
6. To be asset of the community.



6) What are the current youth issues that your org usually encounters?

Issues in:
Education (inequalities)
Poverty (Employment, poor health and inability to pursue college education/ technical)
Drugs
Environment (degradation, resource scarcity, awareness) Politics (Government Structural)

SOLUTIONS:
Youth must be united and very cooperative to the proper authorities to solve (alleviate) the aforesaid issues and problems.

PROGRAMS:

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM (scholarship grant)
EVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
SOCIAL and YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Involves interaction of YPS Members in their organization and the community
Citizenship Building. Development of civic consciousness among YPS Members.
Leadership. Development through trainings and active participation in various YPS, Municipal, Provincial,& National Activities.
Community Service. Participation in neighborhood and community activities.
CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Involves the interaction of YPS Members in carrying activities necessary to development and sustain the organization, as well as the exchange of ideas through people to people efforts.
EMPLOYMENT AND LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM
Government/Private Agencies Benefactor and Partner organization


7) What’s your biggest challenge this year and how did you solve it?

Organizing the major activities – LIMITION OF FUND
Solve: Self-Contribution / grant or donation from the individual/ organizations.

8) What are your biggest achievements this year?


Each Chapter has their own activities and achievements. In regards to this we are still producing productive youth leader’s in the community or school base.

9) What are your plans for 2010?
1. Creation/ Circulation of the YPS’ians VOICE Publication
2. Preparation in the celebration of the YPS 10Th years Anniversary. Some activities will be launch such as: CONTEST: LOGO, THEME, POSTERS, ESSAY and SPORTS COMPETITION participated by YPS On-line Members, YPS chapters and YPS Lopez Municipal Council
3. Launching of Income Generating project “ Concert, battle of the Band, Search, SOVENIER PROGRAM/MEMORABILIA for the 10th years Anniversary
4. YPS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION: Proceeds of the IGP will used to this program.
5. ON Process the SEC REGISTRATION
6. Be involving this 2010 election thru awareness program (voter’s education, post blog for a certain issues/opinions) to the members and others.
7. Installation of YPS Development Training Center.
8. continue the previous activity


10) What’s your special message for the youth as we end the program?

“Different Visions, Different Missions, Different Goals and Objectives United into One common ends.”
